Chris + Vicki at Greenwich Naval College

by Graham on 12.Feb.2010

You know when you're halfway through a wedding and it's going well and the photos are going to be awesome, happens to me all the time, ha ha. Anyway, this is one of those. A little bit stressful at times, very busy, very enjoyable and a bride and groom that are happy to give up some time and get involved in the process. Enjoy.

One of the challenges for any winter wedding in the UK is the lack of light, it was additionally fun at the naval college because any light that was present was very orange. A bit of pre-planning, some orange filters and lots of lights sorted the problem out and the family portraits wouldn't look out of place on the mantelpiece at Buckingham Palace.

Canon cameras are pretty hardy, I found that out the hard way. Having a camera fall 5ft on to a marble floor, lens first, is not enjoyable half-way through a day. We have backup cameras but nothing beats the feel of your favourite. If you have an SLR camera I'd recommend a lens hood, if nothing else they work a decent shock absorbers.

The band in the evening was Captain Redeye and the Hoods, a nine piece swing band, they were excellent and very highly recommended.

p.s. I have a list of future posts as long as my arm I'm just being very poor at getting them up on the site, look out for our second December wedding and a post with photographic tips for brides.

The Shelley's at Keston Woods

by Graham on 07.Jan.2010

This was an autumn portrait shoot at Keston Woods, somewhere, I'm ashamed to say, I'd never been to before, despite living only 10 minutes down the road.

When working with kids it's a challenge to keep them entertained, it's great to be able to go out and work with them in a environment that's not only stimulating for them for us too. Leaves to kick, logs to jump off, it was great fun.

Richard + Amelia

by Graham on 09.Dec.2009

October's one of those months where you're just not sure what you're going to get, weather-wise, in the UK. And so, preparing for the worst, we packed up complete with umbrella's for Richard and Amelia's special day.

Fortunately, as it turned out, it was the sun brolly we were using as a prop, the sun making an appearance just as we ventured out to take the portrait shots in the grounds of Bromley Court Hotel. And, I love the shots we got.

One of the things that struck us, and shows in our pictures, is the fun everyone was having.

Thanks to Richard and Amelia for having us shoot their wedding.
